How to install applications, to Apple Devices

Apple made sure that the installation of applications would not be a burden to their users so they made the App Store very user-friendly that even first timers can download applications with ease. However, there are also lots of good apps that other users want to install on their devices but are not readily available on the App Store. This problem can be resolved if you will manually install apps on your iPhone/Apple Devices.

There are some prerequisites needed in order for you to manually install apps. First and foremost, you have to make sure that your iPhone/Apple device is jail broken because you will need Cydia in the process. If you already have a jail broken iPhone/Apple device, proceed to the following steps:

Step 1.

To manually install apps on your device, look for the “Installous” app on Cydia and install it.
Step 2.
You have to find an application for your computer that will let you browse your iPhone when connected to a port. A good application example is the iPhoneBrowser.
Step 3.
Download and install the iPhoneBrowser application.
Step 4.
Once you have the application installed, connect your device to your computer.

Step 5.

Prior to connecting your device to your computer, iTunes will automatically start up. However, we will not need it so close it. Run your iPhoneBrowser application.

Step 6.

You will see your phone and its folders on the screen. Browse for this path “Var/Mobile/Library/Downloads “. This is the path where uninstalled applications are stored.

Step 7.

Copy your desired application to install from your computer into that folder. After copying, disconnect your device then run your Installous application on your phone and select “Downloads”. Look for the application you transferred then open it and it should automatically install and be ready for use.
