FREE online storage , Dropbox

Dropbox is a website of free online storage. a place you can store/backup all your data that are accessible for multiple computers. You can also access files on portable devices. users can share files/data with another Dropbox users. That is very easy solution for family/groups members, those may not have much networking experience/knowledge. The files are automatically synchronized to all devices, it mean you do not have to worry about figuring out network configuration. My family uses Dropbox and I personally use it to work. You cam start with 2 GB of free storage with option to upgrade to 50 GB, 100 GB or 1000 GB with his new teams plan

If you are novice to this service You can easily learn about Dropbox watching this video

How to setup Dropbox account
  • Visit the site and download and install “dropbox client”. After the installation, create an account. Then you will receive an option to keep the ”Dropbox folder” path/ can select loacatin to defualt path or change it to somewhere you like. At this point, if you want to make your entire “My Documents” as your “My Dropbox” folder, you will need this option. Personally, I prefer you to place it in a separate location from “My Documents” folder
  • After clicking finish you can see a folder in your user folder. Now you can drag and drop any data you want to share, store, backup (photos, documents, music, videos etc ) . Instantly those files will upload to web server. Then it will sync to your all devises.Noe you can share files like in the picture below and share the links with your friends

I will demonstrate some of the more detailed and  advanced uses of Dropbox in my next article.
